Week 0 College Football: Top 25 Public Betting Splits | News Article by Handicapperchic.com

The college football season is finally here with Week 0 of the season slated to kick off soon and there are two top-25 teams scheduled to take the field. The first are the #13 ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish going up against Navy as the first official college football game of the season.

Capping off the slate of games on the week are the #6 USC Trojans who will have their first game against the State Jose State Spartans.

To no surprise, both Notre Dame and USC are heavy favorites to win their respective games and the public seems to agree with this.

Starting with Notre Dame’s game against Navy which will take place in Dublin, Ireland, the Fighting Irish have -1500 odds to win outright with a massive -20.5-point swing on the spread. The point total is also set at a low 50.5 points.

On the moneyline, 89% of all bets being placed are on their odds to win the game. 54% of the money is coming on Navy to pull off an upset, however, that only comes as their 775 odds would offer a huge payout if they do win. The public seems to be back to normal on the spread with 58% of bets being placed and 55% of the betting handle coming in on the Irish to cover.

College football Week 0 schedule- Saturday, August 26th:

Moving on to the nightcap, USC has a massive -10000 odds to win outright which are the strongest moneyline odds of any other game on the slate. Adding on to their strongest moneyline odds, their 30 points on the spread are also the largest of the week as well.

The 65-point total on the game is the biggest of any other game. With the way the odds are set, it seems oddsmakers are expecting USC to get out to a quick lead and really take it to the Spartans.

On the spread, 49% of bets are actually being placed on San Jose State to cover 30 points, however, 53% of the money that is being bet is coming on USC to cover the spread. Even with the highest point total of any other game, the public is still leaning towards the over at 53% of all the betting slips coming in and 70% of the total handle.

All in all, with college football back in action, using the way the public is betting on their games is a great way to plan out your bets.
