NBA Playoff Public Betting Splits | News Article by Handicapperchic.com

The second round of the NBA Playoffs is in full swing and there are two crucial games being played on Friday. The first is the Boston Celtics going up against the Philadelphia 76ers in Philadelphia where the Celtics are just a 2-point favorite.

The night cap features the Phoenix Suns against the Denver Nuggets in Game 3 where they are a 4-point favorite.

Looking at the splits for the Game 3 matchup between the 76ers and Celtics, Boston is raking in close to any and all action with 68% of bets and 71% of the money to cover the spread. On the moneyline, they are seeing 63% of bets and 76% of the handle.

The 213.5 point total is seeing some ridiculous action on the over with both the total bets being placed and the betting handle gaining over 90% of action.

If Game 3 unfolds similarly to how the first two games did, it will surely be decided by more than 2 points. Philly is actually in a great position to cover as the underdog and potentially win the game as they’ve gone 26-16-1 against the spread this season when playing at home.

Boston also struggles when oddsmakers list them as the favorites on the road going 18-19 ATS.

Moving on to the second game of the day, it’s all Denver as their 4 spread is seeing 74% of total bets and a massive 84% of the total handle.

The moneyline is telling a different story with 66% of the money being bet coming on Denver while 59% of the bets placed are on the Phoenix Suns. At the 224.5 game total, the over is taking in over 70% of both the betting handle and the money bet.

Betting Trends
Celtics are 7-3 (70%) in spread bets in their Last 10 Games for 3.36 total units won Nuggets Suns Hawks are 2-8 (20%) in spread bets in their Last 10 Games vs BOS for -6.18 total units lost

It makes sense as to why the Nuggets are taking in heavy action as the Suns are expected to be without Chris Paul for games 3-5 due to injury. Denver has also been scorching hot having taken a 2-0 lead in the series and winning both games by a 10 point margin.

It’s also a bit eye opening that the point total is set as high as it is considering that in Game 2, neither team was able to crack 100 points. Things though are leaning in Phoenix’s direction based on trends with a 19-15-1 record against the spread when listed as the game favorite and playing at home.
