NFL Week 2 | News Article by Handicapperchic.com

Week 2 of the NFL season kicks off Thursday night with the Eagles hosting the Vikings. The rest of the weekend has a few games that stand out. We will go through the top game in each time slot so you can prioritize your viewing.

The 1 p.m. slate on Sunday is solid, but the Baltimore Ravens visiting the Cincinnati Bengals stands out more than the rest. Both of these teams have the weight of expectation. Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow both got PAID this offseason, and in week one both of them looked like their franchise made mistakes.

The Bengals were horrible in week 1. Joe Burrow was so bad that they benched him late in the fourth quarter. The Ravens beat a dismal Texans team in week one but looked bad doing it. This game will be huge for both teams. I will take the Bengals (-3.5) at home expecting them to get back to their explosive ways.

The afternoon slate is not as exciting, especially after the injuries that took place in week one. We would have featured the Jets and Cowboys, but with the loss of Aaron Rodgers, we’re not going to touch that game.

So, we head out west, where the San Francisco 49ers travel south to Los Angeles to play the Rams. The 49ers looked every bit of the NFC finalist that they were last year, dominating the Pittsburgh Steelers. The defense wreaked havoc, and the offense looked explosive.

The Rams were better than expected in week 1 as well. Matthew Stafford looked to be back, but they are still going to miss Cooper Cupp in a game like this. I think the Rams cover the 8 spread though.

NFL Game, Miami Dolphins vs New England Patriots venue & odds:

  • Spread: -3 +110 Dolphins – Patriots +3 -110
  • Moneyline: -160 Dolphins – Patriots +140
  • Location / Game time: : Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, MA / Sept 17th, 2023, 8:20 PM EDT

Sunday Night Football could be a fun match-up if the second half Patriots show up instead of the team that started the game against the Eagles. They looked like a decent offense in week one, but this week every one of their starting offensive lineman is on the injury report.

The Dolphins offense looked unstoppable last week against the Chargers. Tua leads the NFL with a 466 yard performance in week one, and Tyreek Hill looks to have gotten faster. The Patriots ( 2.5) can slow down the ‘Phins a bit and keep this close.

Week 2 NFL schedule:

Thursday, Sept. 14

Sunday, Sept. 17

Monday, Sept. 18

NFL Betting Trends Minnesota Vikings vs Philadelphia Eagles

The Minnesota Vikings, once the dark horses of the league, seem to be faltering when it comes to spread bets. Over their last 10 games as underdogs, they've managed to cover the spread only 3 times, resulting in a disheartening -4.27 unit loss for their backers.
